Welcome to the Acne Support Group in Cyberspace!!
Hello fellow Cyberians and Welcome! The Acne Support Group in Cyberspace is a support group and chat area for everyday people with acne to visit, discuss, share treatments, provide support, and move through the stressful event of having acne.
This is one of many of the Acne Support Groups out there, with the hope that armed with enough knowledge and support, together, there will one day come a time when we will all live in a world where we all have clear, healthy normal skin.
Anyone is welcome to post and share experiences and/or just have a general "bawl" about how you feel etc!
My name is "Just Me", I am 39 years of age, female, part English and part Chinese, grew up in Singapore, now living in London and have suffered from cystic acne since the age of 12 years old. Four years ago in 2000, I saw and felt the need out there for a safe space for those of us who have acne to get together to share our experiences and was inspired to start the Acne Support Group in Cyberspace Forum. The Acne Scar Treatments Support Group Forum followed shortly after and has grown quickly into what it is today.
After 4 years of setting up this acne support group in cyberspace, I decided it needed time for a retouch up; and this is the new website, which will be a work in progress and will be your website, ie you tell me what you want to see here as this site belongs to you and everyone out there in cyberspace.
I have 'retired' from moderating after several years on the net with new age, reiki and acne support group websites and am more active in real life than in cyberspace; however I will return from time to time to help out with the webmastering.
My acne online journal is now live and for those of you who wish to start your own acne online journal, who would like to share your journal with others online, let me know your link, and I'll add it to the site. I'll also provide links on the Forums. Journalling is healing and is different to sharing on a forum and for others at times it's also healing to read another's story as most of us can relate to each other's pain and depression at having acne and the scarring that goes with it. There is a facility on the online journal where people can share feedback if they wish; and there's also the facility to keep parts of your journal private and parts you can share.
Along with my day job as an Administrative Assistant, I am also a Karuna and Usui Reiki Master Practitioner & Teacher, a Lightworker, have studied metaphysics the past 20 plus years and live a life now dedicated to healing the mind, body and soul.
My acne is thankfully now under control and my scarring after all those years is still a work in progress. I am posting my updates on my upcoming Isolagen treatment in July this year 2004 on the Acne Scar Treatments Support Group Forum.
Together, with the emotional support, and guidance from each other that is so lacking out there as most are money oriented, we can work towards finding healing for acne so that others who follow in our path will be able to lead a healthier acne free life.
